Hey friends – welcome to Shey and Lyna Naturals! Whether you’re here out of curiosity, because you love natural skincare, or because you want to learn more about safe products – we’re so happy you found us!
Mom and I are passionate about safe, natural skincare. Have you ever taken a close look at the ingredient list on that bar of soap or bottle of lotion and thought, “Hmm… I’m not sure I can even pronounce these words, let alone know what they are.” Yeah, us too – these long, complicated names are the International Nomenclature of Cosmetic Ingredients names, or INCI names for short, and Canadian labelling law requires these to be listed on all cosmetics sold in Canada. I’m sure it comes as no surprise to find out that a lot of these ingredients are chemicals with less than desirable side effects; but, believe it or not, many ingredients with long, complicated names are actually safe AND natural! For example, Butyrospermum Parkii is the INCI name for Shea Butter, a main ingredient in most of our products. This is an example of one of the reasons we’re here and excited to start sharing our products and writing these blog posts.
